 3v1 Asymmetric First Person Shooter

Engine: Unreal 4

Core Team: 5 people, 1 Project Manager, 2 Artists, 2 Programmers

Role, Network/UI programmer and UI Designer

Compound

A 3D first person shooter on the PC, Compound features asymmetrical multiplayer gameplay in a chilling, claustrophobic environment. Players take the role of either a squad of soldiers sent in to destroy or the escapee alien, seeking to fight its way to freedom. Both sides must play to their strengths in order to take the advantage of their prey, lest the hunter becomes the hunted.

User interface
The user interface of Compound had to take into account of a rarity of factors. Firstly each character had to be different in some way the Soldier characters although very similar had different weapons to fulfill their role (Pyro HUD mock up below), then the Alien which has a multitude of abilities and extremely different feel than that of the Soldiers.

Programming the Network
The network had to be set up for joining, leaving and hosting sessions.
For the hosting the server Unreal in build network tools where used.
